http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390443409904577618782315012076.html
The article above was written by DANIEL GILBERT, TIMOTHY W. MARTIN and MIKE ESTER and it explains how it was categorized as a tropical storm rather than a category one hurricane. Isaac passed Louisiana, and reporters said the replacement leveys held up very well against all the rain that was spread around the gulf and Louisiana.

Lexmark to Cut 1,700 Jobs and Stop Making Inkjet Printers

This is a very bad situation for a lot of people working for since Lexmark is jettisoning its inkjet printers and laying off 1,700 workers as paper becomes the past to  sleeker digital devices and online photo albums on Internet hangouts like Facebook.  These people should not be layed off because Lexmark cannot provide a up to date printer. They should go back to the drawing board and create a new device

Library Ethnography Project - Kadarius/Valerie

The project that Valarie and I did was going to the reference desk in the library and getting information on data bases and finding a book in the library.

C.U.R.R.A

C.U.R.R.A
The acronym my group came to an agreement on is C.U.R.R.A this word is short but means a lot because it is made to remind people what the guide lines for finding a correct website. The first letter stands for credentials this word can go along way because it is an attestation of qualification, competence, or authority issued to an individual by a third party and this can show the quality. The second letter stand for unbiased which is the opposite of bias which is anything biased generally is one-sided, and therefore lacks a neutral point of view. The third letter stands for references this is a great way for people to see that the website is viewed and seen by sources other than the original author which created the website. The fifth word stands for relevancy this word is what is used in certain fields to show it is up to date and is studied in cognitive sciences, logic, and library the last word is authority, authority usually stands for the author or publisher. The author usually has authority if he or she is qualified to talk about the subject. When finding authority you look for the authors credentials.

Second blog

There is one library service that I am still confused about, and that is checking out laptops and the procedure of keeping them over night. Long story short last year around exam time my laptop had broke and I needed to rent one from the library so I could finish my essay. They told me that I could check it out for twenty four hours then I would need to return it. But when I tried to check it out two days later they told me they did not rent laptops. I am confused do they rent them or do they not.

I am not confused about this course anymore since Ms. Critten explained the overview of the course; however, I am still worried about some of the assignments that we will be doing in the class.  I am most excited about becoming hands on with the activities that’s in the syllabus. One of the activities that we are about to do before the next class period is the video of two people going up to the reference desk in the library. The purpose of this assignment is to let the teacher know we are up to date with using the library to our advantage.

Kadarius Williams-Macon

Hello, class my name is Kadarius Williams-Macon, I from Knoxville Tennessee originally then I move to Atlanta when I was young. I am an undeclared major as of right now. I am leaning towards an biology major because science is my favorite subject in school.
I decided to take this class because I knew very little about the class, and I knew it would be different to me. Hopefully this class will be a fun experience for me through out the semester.
One thing that I have always wanted to learn was how to fly an airplane. I looked up to people who flew airplanes be cause I think its cool how two people could fly an aircraft that big. I almost considered going to aviation school when I graduated from high school, but I remembered one thing I am afraid of heights so that really made me rethink the career choice. I chose west Georgia because I heard it was a really good school to attend so I gave it a shot.
