Rhetorical Device

Today I watched the Presidential election and both of the candidates Mitt Romney, and President Obama both exhibited Rhetorical Devices in their debates. The debate showed more than one rhetorical device, but the first one that I will talk about will be how Barack Obama used Appeals to emotion he argued in his debate that Mitt Romney would be taking the future away from Americas youth by taking away financial aid and the Federal Pell Grant which would affect a majority of college kids today. He went on to say how if he took it away we would not be able to accomplish many of the goals that we would be able to do if we went to college. This put in prospective to many Americans that voting for Mitt Romney would be the wrong choice. Mitt Romney would the back up the argument against Barack Obama with the Rhetorical Device Appeal to Authority he used this to show off his statistics while he was governor and tried to relate the current debate with what he did as governor of his one state so he tried to use his former glory days to appeal to the viewers with his old power to say he did it then and he can do it now
